Annual Service Officer Training for Fall 2026
If you would like to receive training to be one of our Chapter Service Officers, you can. Training itself is free and DAV 84 will cover other expenses. Chapter Service Officers are asked to assist our National Service Officers while they work with our members on their VA paperwork. CSOs are a very important group of volunteers for any DAV chapter.
NOTICE - Nominated members ONLY
To receive Service Officer training and certification (school will be held on September 19), you must be nominated by your chapter. Chapters can nominate as few or as many members as they choose. Please inform your chapter if you’d like to attend the training.Date - Time - Location

NOTES
- DAV 84 will accept volunteers for training at our August meeting
- DAV 84 will make & pay for hotel reservations for Friday night so members can drive down the day before
- DAV 84 will reimburse volunteers for meals during training (to a limit)
- DAV 84 will pay travel mileage rates for training (carpooling is common, only the driver receives reimbursement)
- IRS mileage rates = $0.14/mile
