The membership has heard proposed changes to our bylaws to the following effect at the August chapter meeting, again at the September chapter meeting, and for a third time at the October chapter meeting.

The membership has voted in favor of the below change at the October 2026 chapter regualr meeting.

Original text Article 1, Section 3: Minutes of the meetings of the Chapter, including the Chapter Executive Committee, shall be kept and be available for inspection by any Chapter member.

The membership has not yet voted on the proposed changes.

Original text Article 5 - Administration Section 3: At the time specified in the Chapter Bylaws, the Chapter shall elect annually a Commander, Senior Vice Commander, Junior Vice Commander(s) and a Treasurer. Such other officers as may be necessary to operate the Chapter may be appointed by the Commander, with the simple majority approval of the Chapter. Neither the Chapter Commander nor any Chapter Vice Commander may serve, simultaneously, as Chapter Adjutant or Treasurer.

Annual Service Officer Training for Fall 2026

If you would like to receive training to be one of our Chapter Service Officers, you can. Training itself is free and DAV 84 will cover other expenses. Chapter Service Officers are asked to assist our National Service Officers while they work with our members on their VA paperwork. CSOs are a very important group of volunteers for any DAV chapter.

Date - Time - Location

We would like to inform all members that the date for our August meeting has been moved to August 14th.

This change applies only to the August meeting and does not affect any other scheduled gatherings.

September Meeting Confirmation

Our September meeting will proceed as previously scheduled at the same location and the same time as previously communicated. Our meeting location will remain a the Crestwood Elks Lodge on the first Friday of the month at 6:30pm. There are no changes to the July meeting venue, date, or start time.
